Project overview
SIPS is a digital detox cafe where phones, laptops and tablets stay in the lockers and the table is for drawing, journaling and talking. The challenge was branding the absence of screens: a place built around slowing down still needed an identity loud enough to stand out on the street and in a phone feed. I built it around a bubble display typeface and a small cast of black-and-cream characters, including a sleepy dog, set against a calm grotesk and a soft mint and cream palette. Then I designed everything you actually touch: cups and carriers, window graphics, stickers, the menu, journal prompts, connect-the-dots pages, even receipts with a game “for later.” Playful on the surface, quiet underneath, and consistent across every touchpoint, was the skill this project taught me.
